Every week we’ll reveal a treasure trove of art materials, loose parts and recycling themed around our exhibitions to be transformed into whatever artworks, models and fashion accessories you can dream up!

Family Art Club is suitable for children of all ages and we encourage parents, grandparents and carers to get stuck in too – this isn’t children’s art club, its Family Art Club!

• Please wear clothes you won’t be upset about getting messy.

• Breakfast cereal for children is provided for free at this club.

• All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking

Places at Family Art Club are offered on a ‘pay what you can’ donation basis, so that you can choose how much to pay according to what your family can afford.

Family Art Club is a drop-in session, but we do recommend booking to make sure that you have a place during busier times. See link at bottom of the page.

Family Art Club Membership

You can buy a Family Art Club membership pack on the day from our reception. All packs include membership cards, at least one sketchbook and a range of drawing supplies.

3rd May – Orange! – This week’s theme is all about the colour orange! What outrageous creations will you make?

10th May – Spring! (Wales in Bloom) – Let’s celebrate the season with artworks exploring the colours, textures and patterns of spring.

17th May – Save the Bees Day – We’re buzzin’ for this one! Create an artwork inspired by bees and take a packet of meadow seeds home with you!

7th June – Felt! – We’re rolling out the felt to make our own banners and artworks. Why? It just felt right.

14th June – Woodland Connections! – To celebrate Woodland Connections Week we’ll be making miniature trees inspired by all the things we feel connected to.

21st June – Sandy! – Let’s experiment with texture and try painting and sculpting with sand.

28th June – Children’s Art Week – To celebrate Children’s Art Week we’re making the most of our drawing materials. Try chalks, oil pastels, charcoal and more!

5th July – Art Goals! – This week the Wales Women’s team will make history by playing their first game in the UEFA Euro 2025, we’ll be making football themed crafts to cheer them on!

12th July – Summer! – Whatever the weather, let’s make art that reminds us of a perfect summer, just in time for the school holidays!
