Standing in for this week is renowned local pianist Chris Simms.

Chris started playing the piano at the age of 6 studying Classical piano with Paul Johns for 10 years in Corwen, culminating in an appearance at the Chester Music Festival performing the 1st movement of Beethoven’s Pathétique Sonata.

He began experimenting with his own music at the age of 13 and began composing when he should have been learning his grades!

These early compositions still comprise a large part of his repertoire, covering many genres and styles of music. He has performed in various countries including Switzerland, South America and the French Riviera and recently appeared on the 1st Series of Channel 4’s The Piano, performing at Leeds Railway station.
