DESCRIPTION:1876 Year of Wonder – Creative Writing: Love Letters to Here \nPick up your pen and explore Wrexham through the eyes of a writer. \nInspired by the Wrexham Writers anthology and the rich tradition of travel writing in the area\, this session invites families to celebrate the places\, people and moments that make Wrexham special. Together\, we’ll build a shared anthology of stories\, celebrating Wrexham through many different voices. \nEveryone will create their own mini-zine to take home\, filled with words\, ideas and stories from the session in a small collection of big feelings for the place we call home. \nWhat to bring: \nYou can expect a guided creative writing session\, with gentle prompts and inspiration. Please bring whatever you feel comfortable writing with (pen\, notebook\, phone\, laptop etc.) and a drink. There will be a short comfort break in the middle and you are welcome to take a break anytime you need during the session. \nLanguage: \nThe sessions will predominantly be held in English\, using everyday Welsh but participants are welcome to write and take part in any language they are comfortable using. \nAccess: \nThis workshop is located on the groundfloor. There is a ‘Changing Places’ accessible toilet on site. Free parking for blue badge holders is available in our multistorey carpark. In this lively two-hour family creative writing workshop\, we’ll create our own players to star in their own story\, create our own commentary for our everyday lives or rewrite football chants and come up with a few of our own! \nInspired by the 1876 Year of Wonder and the establishment of the Football Association of Wales in Wrexham! \nThis session is open to all ages with no experience necessary\, whether you want to write as a family or engage in storytelling. DESCRIPTION:Teen Art Club (11-17s)\n16/02/2026\, 13:00 – 16:00\n£6.50 per young person. Booking essential.\nThis is a drop-off session\, but parents / carers are welcome to stay if young people feel anxious or require support for additional needs. Parents / carers will be asked to complete an emergency contact form ahead of the session. \nReverse painting with David Setter\nHave you ever wondered what it’s like to create a painting\, illustration or doodle backwards?\nColour first and then ‘trapping’ that colour with line work….It’s a lovely loose way to create\, and it eliminates the need to attempt to paint neatly to the line. A time saving\, fun and improvised way of creating pictures which works well in any medium.\nWe’ll be looking at and listening to the wonderful work of Jonathan le Vay for inspiration. David will also bring examples of his own floral paintings along to the session\, and will be demonstrating tips and tricks on doodle character creation.\nWe will be using music to create one line (continuous line) drawings to find out if the tempo of music plays a part in how we draw.
