Relating directly to our present global emergency, social isolation and the measures we all take to protect ourselves and our communities, Mai Thomas’ Creative Assignment focuses on a simple and accessible object which everyone can relate to (now, more than ever!). Soap!

This assignment gives you the recipe for making and carving your own soaps. It also uses the term ‘soapbox’ to enable you to share your soapbox stories through photographs of your mini artworks and your hands in the process of making. The aim is to reinforce the connectivity of rural and town communities in a shared action for the common good.
