A project that has social enterprise at its core, designer maker, previously held at Oriel Wrecsam’s temporary space on Chester Street, will return to Wrexham here at Tŷ Pawb. Following on from a successful project working with the charity, Advanced Brighter futures in 2016, Designer Maker 2018 will be a project in partnership with HMP Berwyn. Participants from the prison are currently working closely with designer, Tim Denton to design and a make a set of striking laser cut lamps which will be on sale at Siop//Shop @ Tŷ Pawb. All profits will go back into this project. The aim of the Designer Maker project is to introduce business and design practices into the Prison, and to create an engaging and sustainable project with beautiful outcomes.
Throughout the summer of 2017, hundreds of Wrexhamites shared their weird and wonderful stories of the town and through a public vote, the town’s six favourite stories have been revealed.
Six artists have been commissioned to create a Wrexham Souvenir based on one of the six Wrexham stories and were unveiled during our opening event, “Dydd Llun Pawb”.
Visit Tŷ Pawb during July 2018 to see the original souvenir designs and pop into the Siop//Shop @ Tŷ Pawb to buy your very own souvenir.
With support from Arts Council Wales, Tŷ Pawb offers individual mentoring to artists who are looking to form a successful new business based on their practice.
We offer one-to-one tutorials to guide their practice; from forming a curated selection of work, to branding and marketing advice, understanding your business financial needs, and launching your own business.
