The Maker in Focus Showcase aims to support makers, artists and crafts people from all disciples and backgrounds by providing them with a platform for their work in our Maker Cabinets.

Rachel Holian is our first maker in focus this year, with her installations of wheel thrown miniature porcelain vessels and stamps exploring themes surrounding family, relationships and emotional ties.

Her creations are simple, either left alone or stained grey and black, and are unadorned apart from their stamp. The stamp is a unique impressed gestural mark used to give a feeling of life, a fingerprint, an individual identity. Small fingerprints also remain visible, celebrating the handmade and delicate, moveable qualities of porcelain.

Rachel’s installations are treasured items intended to invoke memories and will be able to view and purchase from the Maker Cabinets opposite Ty Pawb’s reception desk, from the 1^st April until the 30^th June.
