Theatre and Music 101 Workshop

Join Dirty Protest, Ty Pawb and leading gig-theatre artist Hannah McPake to explore music and theatre making.

Generating ideas, exploring genre and form, and negotiating imposter syndrome.

Are you a musician/DJ/poet who thinks they might want to make a piece of theatre but have no idea where to start?

Do you make theatre but are interested to explore working with live music?

This workshop is for you!

A mix of theory, conversation, and practical techniques to help you on your theatre-making journey.

You might arrive with an idea you want to develop or you might arrive with nothing, but hopefully, you’ll leave feeling invigorated and empowered.

Hannah McPake is a performer, writer, and co-founder of multi-award-winning gig theatre company Gagglebabble.

Dirty Protest is Wales’ new writing theatre company working across the nation and internationally. Creating theatrical tequila without the paraphernalia, all for the price of a pint, Dirty Protest stages new award-winning plays in theatres and alternative venues, from pubs and clubs to kebab shops, hairdressers, forests and bus stops. Dirty Protest’s productions Sugar Baby and How To Be Brave were each part of the British Council Showcase at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017 and 2019, and Double Drop created with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winners 9Bach was awarded the Wales in Edinburgh Showcase 2022.
